TERM OF ENDEARMENT COOKIE
I wanted to make a cookie for Valentine’s Day including ingredients that are also terms of endearment. The only endearing names I came up with were honey, sugar, and white chocolate. Wait! I just now realized that “cookie” could even be one! sweeeet.
hey HONEY, oh SUGAR, yo WHITE CHOCOLATE.. YOU’RE MY COOKIE!
1 1/2 cups flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

FORTunate
My town knows a thing or two about forts. Home of THE Fort Necessity, Fayette County holds a piece of American Revolution history right in her thicky thick backside. Yes, that’s right folks, we may not have one of those “Jamba Juices” ya’ll are raving about, but ask yourself this: do you live right next to the opening battleground of the French and Indian War?? Now, if...

HOLIGRAMMED
Cookie cutter garland. Pencil tree purchased at Grammie Bee’s Treasures on top of a retro record player. Holiday terrarium made with layers of coffee (for the smell) and baking soda (for the snow)! Paper garland made by a student displayed using stocking hangers (make your own with rice or glittered paper). Lots of fresh pine. Lots of fresh holly sprigs. Hand-painted nativity figurines from...

DOUBLING THE FUN
Wrigley’s Spearmint gum explains it best and hanging out with my twin cousins, Tonya and Tracy, is like being in a real-life Doublemint commercial. I spent Veteran’s Day weekend visiting them and their families with my aunt in Brooklyn. The trip was jam-packed full of good times, big laughs, great food, and of course some major babe spottings.
Their new place, sitting in the heart...

NO SLEEP IN BROOKLYN: bella's BK birthday
Topics of conversation with an 8yr old girl usually include:
favorite subjects in school
where did Hannah Montana go
who the hell is Big Time Rush
hug, marry, kill: Justin Bieber, Edward, or that kid from iCarly
which Lunchable do you prefer
Perhaps the conversation may lead to role-playing:
zookeeper and animal
Selena Gomez and her personal assistant
(or what I’d push...

NUMBA ONE STUDDA
Pumpkin guts cause a dramatic reaction every time I encounter them. The texture and smell bring out an ever so attractive dry-heaving spell that only Richard Simmons could probably out do, which is why every fall season I am stuck at the same crossroads: to carve or not to carve. How can I not participate in such a common tradition? A common tradition involving my most favorite season. For...

AUTUMN WREATH DECONSTRUCTED
My obsession for moss is growing at a fast pace..sort of like moss. This fall, I decided to spread the moss, think outside the circle, and embrace corners when it comes to door decor. Using two picture frames I got at the thrift store and some craft materials you would typically see on a crafty wreath, I crafted my own door decoration for just $10! Below, you will find thorough, step-by-step...

A DAY IN THE LIFE
Just this past week my BFFLFRSSFAM (best friend forever, like for realz soul sista from anotha mista), Anika came to visit. Luckily, Anika, aka Neek…or Neeky Deeky Freaky, has visited Uniontown before so we were able to avoid all of the tourist attractions like the George C. Marshall statue or Sheetz and act like real locals.
We started the day by meeting Meem for lunch at one of our...

WARHOL WUZ HERE
One of my favorite places at home is Mount Macrina. Originally the estate of wealthy coal baron, J.V. Thompson these grounds are now run by the sweet Sisters of St. Basil. In 1933, the sisters took residence and opened their doors to the community, literally, housing and supporting thousands of people in need..not to mention providing a beautiful and serene space for the public.

CRAFTING A BEFORE/AFTER IN 48 HOURS
Grammie Bee’s Craft Store in Uniontown, PA contacted me for a little help last week. The lovely lady owners, who just happen to be my aunt and mother, opened their very own shop full of country charm earlier this summer. Without much direction and not wanting to dip into much more of their funds, they allowed me to take the lead and devote 48 hours to their project.
Before:

For my mom, the beginning of this August began just as it did twenty-five years ago: I was gracing her with my presence while being a real royal pain. She spent the Friday before my birthday frantically dodging Batman film detours and road closings and eventually brought me into the world of planes and Franco Harris statues, aka the Pittsburgh Airport. In case you have never been, the Pittsburgh...
